Event type: Education
28 June 2025
A Gathering for Curious Minds What: “You don't have to fit in one box.” That’s the message Lucille Nyikuri learned the hard way. She trained as a legal advocate, was bound by rules that muted self-expression, and was pulled by her creative calling. Today, she blends law, design, and African heritage to create handcrafted jewelry that tells a story and challenges the idea that careers must be linear. This session explores what it takes to stay relevant in a changing world and why the future belongs to those who embrace their full range of talents. How: We’ll screen two short TED Talk videos on the theme of career reinvention and creative identity, followed by a live discussion with Lucille on how to break out of rigid roles and build a career that’s uniquely your own. This month’s speaker: Lucille Nyikuri, founder of Lukagwa Handcrafted Jewellery, legal advocate, and silversmith-in-training, shares how embracing all sides of herself helped her stay relevant, rooted, and creatively free. Date: Saturday June 28th, 2025 Time: 9:30am – 12pm Location: Westgate Cinema, Westgate Mall Nairobi, 2nd Floor (up the escalator, meet in the cinema lobby) Coffee table chats: Stick around after the session to dive deeper with fellow attendees over coffee. Small-group tables make it easy to meet new people and share ideas afterwards!
