A Kikuyu play. The struggle for prosperity splits a household between the pews and the betting shop. While Nelly is celebrated for "sowing seeds" in the church to secure divine blessings, her brother-in-law Mathew is shamed as a social pariah for his gambling. Caught between them, Thumbi begins to interrogate the thin line between holy offerings and desperate bets. The story reaches a climax when the family's resources are drained by both institutions, forcing a confrontation over whether Nelly’s "investments" in faith are any less of a gamble than Mathew’s pursuit of luck.
